ARCHIVES FOR UFO RESEARCH

AFU

Photo tour, part 2 - the reference book library

The book collection holds more than 11.000 volumes representing about 8.000 UFO-related titles.

The collection holds prominent collections of printed matters including books, booklets, documents and dissertations in many languages such as Russian, French and Spanish.  A major portion of the library's books are, of course, in English and the Scandinavian languages. Our long term aim is to save two or three copies of each published ufo-related edition from anywhere in the world. We aim to become a 'duty delivery' collection where the worldwide ufo-related literature is preserved. We have recently started an e-Book library with currently about 500 titles. In June 2007 the book collection moved into a new library (the 'B' archive, our former working facilities), with space for future expansion of the collection.

Books and booklets are sorted into the shelves first by main subject order, according to our own classification scheme "Ufocode", then under each code all media are arranged in alphabetical order by name of author. Ufocode allows for retrieval of media under more than 700 subject headings. To see these codes, follow the Ufocode trail from our index page.
